There was a lot wrong with WCW throughout its existence: PN News, Cactus Jack: Lost in Cleveland, The Black Scorpion, Missy Hyatt, Scaffold Matches, the Top Rope Rule, Horseman Paul Roma, The Yetti, splitting up the Hollywood Blondes, The Renegade, The Road Wild PPVs, Jim Herd, The Shockmaster, The White Castle of Fear, Great American Bash 91, Robocop, The Taylor Made Man, The Demon, Jay Leno, Mark Madden, The Bootyman, Doug Dillinger, The King of the Road Match, Finger Poke of Doom, Goldberg ending Bret Hart's career, Heavy Metal Van Hammer, Gary Spivey, Spin the Wheel Make the Deal, Sonny Ono, Chamber of Horrors, The Dynamic Dudes, The Refer-Eye Cam, Booker T calling Hulk Hogan the N-word, Vincent, Russo shaves Ric Flair's head, The Ultimate Warrior, Ready to Rumble, GI Bro, Starrcade 97, Hacksaw Jim Duggan: Canadian, Pole Matches, Oklahoma, Ric Flair in the nuthouse, Mancow, Bash at the Beach 2000, Marcus Alexander Bagwell, Buff Bagwell, Buff the Stuff, Judy Bagwell, Stars & Stripes, American Males, Hardcore Division, The Dog, Dusty's Ass, The Dungeon of Doom, WCW Magazine, WCW Comics, WCW Action Figures (after 1991), WCW Cologne, That 70's Guy Mike Awesome, Arachnaman, Chucky, Sid's Half the Brain Promo...I could go on forever, baby. Within that giant shit-storm of wrestling hell lies many legendary performers and matches. The best concept to come out of WCW/NWA in my opinion is Dusty Rhodes' creation - The War Games. Put two rings together, put a cage on top, and lock two teams inside until one surrenders. I still scratch my head every year when the IWC reports that WWE feels the Survivor Series match concept has become stale and outdated, yet they have this perfectly good idea of the War Games just sitting on the backburner doing nothing. The WarGames match would be totally fresh and unique given today's fanbase and current crop of superstars. One of my favorite War Games matches is from Wrestlewar 92. Sting's Squadron vs. The Dangerous Alliance. Before Paul Heyman was the brains behind ECW's meteoric rise, before managing the likes of Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, he had his very own stable in WCW called the Dangerous Alliance. Look at this legendary group of stars that comprised this group: Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Bobby Eaton, Larry Zybyszko, and Arn Anderson. Pit them in the War Games vs. Sting's team of Sting, Barry Windham, Nikita Koloff, Dustin Rhodes, & Ricky Steamboat and you have magic. Just check it out.
